PESHAWAR: September 24 is the last date for the working journalists of Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) to apply for the PhD scholarships announced by Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The scholarships, announced under the project `Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for Students of Balochistan and FATA', would be awarded to those who will secure admission in HEC identified universities in USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
An official of HEC told APP that these scholarships have been announced considering the contemporary advancements in field of Media and Journalism and to strengthen the skills of FATA Journalists.
The scholarships would cover Tuition fee, Maintenance Allowance, Book Allowance, Health Insurance and Travel Allowance, the official said.

The application form should be verified by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the scholarships will be awarded by the Project Steering Committee with preference to the individual securing admission for spring 2014.
The age of the candidate must be 35 years on September 24, 2013, the official added.
