Edu team briefed on SRHR curriculum by Hayat-Lifeline

Peshawar: A special meeting was held at the department of elementary and secondary education KP in civil secretariat in which top education authorities of the province were briefed by Hayat-Lifeline Campaign on the development of special curriculum on the issues of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
Provincial Education minister Muhammad Atif Khan was the guest of honor while Secretary Education Jodat Ayaz, Chairman Textbook Board Dr. Himayat Ullah, Directorate of Schools Riaz Bahar Khan, Additional Secretary Qaisar Alam and other senior officials of the education department were also present on the occasion.
Chief Executive Omer Aftab briefed the participants on Hayat-Lifeline Campaign’s efforts for the development of SRHR curriculum.
Referring to Hayat-Lifeline’s Baseline Study that states that only 40% youngsters in Peshawar are aware of SRHR, Omer said that both public and private sector should join hands to work for the betterment of youth. - PPI

UoP introduces Micro Academic Auditing System to standardise BS Programme

PESHAWAR: University of Peshawar in its heads of teaching department meeting unanimously adopted to introduce a micro academic auditing system in all disciplines so as to standardise its 4-year Bachelor Degree Programme.
While presiding over the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan decided to start BS progarmme by October 7, 2013 and complete verification of documents of students within one month of their admission.
They also looked into the conduct of the ongoing MA/M.Sc examination and found it satisfactory after the Controller examination apprised the participants about his office zero tolerance approach toward cheating during the exams.
