PESHAWAR: More than 180 young people including 70 girls from all agencies/frontier regions of Federally Administered Tribal Areas and 15 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were brought together in the FATA & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Forum organized by Chanan Development Association (CDA) a national youth led organization in collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The objective of the forum is to raise the issues of the young people living in FATA & KP and present the solutions as per the desires of the indigenous people. The participants not only highlighted the issues but also put forth the solutions to these issues.
The forum came to a consensus that if we want to have peace, stability and development in FATA & KP, the Federal and Provincial Governments must replace FCR with Constitution of Pakistan from all agencies and frontier regions, initiate result oriented dialogue with the militant groups by engaging local youth and elders.
They also suggested early finalization of youth polices in FATA and KP and implementation of existing laws for empowerment and protection of women.
It was suggested that local people of FATA should be empowered through decentralization of powers and increase the number of seats of FATA representatives in National Assembly. - INP
