PESHAWAR: Cultural Journalist Forum (CJF) here Monday welcomed the stance of provincial health minister regarding establishment of censor board for Pashto films and termed it an appropriate step according to the prevailing conditions.
A meeting of the forum held under its president, Ehtesham Toru here Monday also stressed for setting up a temporary censer board for Pashto films till an authority for the purpose could not be established in the province.
Members of the forum also demanded to ensure priority in provision of opportunity to provincial artists adding monopoly of certain elements should be abolished for promotion of cultural activities.
The meeting underlined the need of announcing a cultural policy and said that it would also address the issues associated with establishment of censer board.
It was said the policy would also control those involved in blotting the image Pashto culture through stage dramas and CD shows.
The meeting was attended by CJF General Secretary, Rokhan, Vice President, Amjad Ali and other office bearers. -APP
