BANNU/FP: Former MNA Akram Khan Durrani on Friday thanked the people for electing Azeem Khan Durrani on PK-70 and said that as Azeem Khan Durrani had worked for the development of the area, he would continue doing it as MPA. Akram Khan Durrani expressed these views while addressing those who had come to congratulate him for the success of Azeem Khan Durrani. Azeem Khan Durrani also addressed the people and thanked them for electing him. He promised the public to fulfill his promises and would work for the betterment of the area. Azeem Duurani said that the problems of the people would be solved on priority basis.
BANNU (INP): A mother and her daughter died and six other members of her family sustained injuries when the roof of their house collapsed because of heavy rain in Soordag area of Karak on Wednesday.
Police said the family was sleeping when all of a sudden the roof of the house caved in on them and the whole family was buried under the debris.
The rescue team and local people recovered two dead bodies and six injured from debris of the house.
The injured were shifted to DHQ hospital in Karak for treatment.

HLAKKI MARWAT/FP : Residents of Zangikhel demanded of the higher authorities of Pesco to order local quarters concerned to repair the out of order power transformer without any further delay.
Talking to journalists on Monday they said that a 50kv transformer of Nai Abadi of Zangikhel village became faulty a few days before Eidul Fitr and it was taken to a workshop in Bannu by local Pesco employees for repair. They said that the delay in repairing the faulty transformer caused numerous problems for them. The locality has been in the dark since the last several weeks but local officials concerned seem least interested in getting the transformer repaired," they maintained.
They warned that the villagers would launch a protest campaign if immediate measures were not taken to repair the transformer for restoration of power supply to the locality.
Drug inspector raids medical stores. A team headed by district drug inspector Nasrullah Khan Wazir and consisting of anti corruption establishment Lakki circle officer Shahid Adnan raided medical stores in Naurang town on Monday to check spurious drugs. Officials inspected medical stores and checked expiry dates and manufacturers' name and address on the drugs. They registered cases against the owners of several medical stores under relevant section of the law after finding expired medicines at their outlets.
Officials also collected samples and sent them to the laboratory for chemical examination. They warned that the owners of medical stores would face stern action if they were found involved in selling fake medicines.

LAKKI MARWAT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Saturday addressed a large public gathering here on Saturday.
Khan came down hard on Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for calling him a Jewish agent and said Pakistan needed no foreign agent in the presence of people like the maulana.
He assured the people that they would soon start feel difference between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where his party swept May 11 election, and other province.
Khan said that the PTI had won the May 11 elections but the “umpires” didn’t do justice.
