Ashfaq Ahmed/FP

CHARSADDA: The people of the area were fed up of the unhealthy environment in District Headquarters Hospital. Sources said that when a dead body was brought to the morgue even the guard left the premises because of the foul smell. Those performing the postmortem usually leave the door of the morgue open so that the foul smell leaves it and the sweepers can come to clean it but instead stray dogs enter the morgue. The stink from the morgue makes its way to the nearby mosques which is a huge problem for the people who are praying. The residents appealed DC Charsadda and MS of the hospital to take notice of this grave issue.

He further said that there were sixteen thousand polio workers as around six to seven thousand workers would participated in the campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He further said that it was the responsibility of all the parents to administer their children from crippling disease of polio as well as also cooperate with the polio workers. It merits mention here that in 2013, 24 cases of polio have been registered in Pakistan in which 14 cases were from Fata while five cases were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Federal government had announced 26 corer budgets for the anti-polio vaccination campaign which was still not received by the provincial government as most of the polio workers have not received their salaries for the last two months as most of them were on boycott and were not participating in the campaign.
