KP govt announces establishment of accountability commission

PESHAWAR/FP Monitoring Desk: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday announced that it would set up a new accountability commission to check corruption in the province.

“A 10-member legislative body comprising from members each from government and opposition will select a 7-member Search and Scrutiny Committee for a four-year term,” Information Minister Shah Farman told media persons in Peshawar.

The committee will then appoint the accountability commissioner.
The government, he said, will have no rule in functioning of the commission.(Local TV)
