House passes bill to amend Provincial Ombudsman Act 2010

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Assembly with Deputy Speaker, Imtiaz Shahid in chair Tuesday passed a bill unanimously to amend the Provincial Ombudsman Act 2010.
The bill titled as The KP Provincial Ombudsman (Amendment) Act 2013, was passed with amendment proposed by Shah Hussain of JUI(F).
Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Israrullah Gandapur tabled the bill and the house passed it unanimously.
The law minister also agreed with the amendment proposed by Shah Hussain and was made part of the bill.
According to Bill, the word Governor in Ombudsman Act 2010 will be substituted with government.

PHC bars army withdrawal from Malakand

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday barred the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government from withdrawing the army from the restive Malakand Division.
While hearing the missing persons' case, Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan said that the provincial government should not take any decision in haste as it can create legal complications.
He observed that the KP and federal governments should take a joint decision about the troops' pullout from Malakand Division.
The chief justice also directed the provincial government to consult Interior Ministry and Pakistan Army in connection with the withdrawal of troops.

Police launch online service for overseas Pakistanis

PESHAWAR: On the special directives of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ishan Ghani, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has launched online service for solution of overseas Pakistan problems.
Through this service the issues of the overseas Pakistani regarding CNIC, Police Clearance Certificate, security concern, property dispute, complaint against police, threats letters, calls, theft, loss report or domestics violence can be solved effectively.
The new service has been launched on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa official website

Moot on proposed LG plan

PESHAWAR: Aman Ittehad and Tehreek-e- Huqooq Hazara (AITHH) in collaboration with Umar Asghar Khan Foundation here Wednesday held a consultative conference to know the public opinion regarding proposed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Plan (LGP).
The conference was participated by former Local Bodies representatives, lawyers, civil society members, labour leaders, women folk and representatives of AITHH including Rashida Dohad, Mariam Bibi,Dr. Sarfaraz, Mukhtar Baacha and Gul Rehman.

CJF demands establishment of censor board

PESHAWAR: Cultural Journalist Forum (CJF) here Monday welcomed the stance of provincial health minister regarding establishment of censor board for Pashto films and termed it an appropriate step according to the prevailing conditions.
A meeting of the forum held under its president, Ehtesham Toru here Monday also stressed for setting up a temporary censer board for Pashto films till an authority for the purpose could not be established in the province.
