UoP inks MoU to develop academic interaction with religious seminaries

PESHAWAR: The University of Peshawar (UoP) Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Islamabad based Peace and Education Foundation (PEF) with a view to develop academic interaction between the University and the graduates and teachers of the religious seminaries.
The interaction will be based on a 20-day rigorous evening course of 3 credit hour a day covering themes such as self awareness about the status of teaching and teachers, classroom management, lesson planning, learning and development, conflict resolution, human rights, pluralism, logical and critical thinking and debate on madrassa curriculum.

The MoU to remain effective for one year was signed by Vice Chancellor UoP Prof Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan and President Peace and Education Foundation Azhar Hussain.
Dean Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Studies Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz, Director Institute of Islamic and Arabic Studies Prof Dr Miraj ul Islam Zia and Executive Director PEF Rashad Bukhari were also present on the occasion.
University of Peshawar is looking for collaborations with organizations working in the field to promote its motive of creation, dissemination and application of knowledge, said Vice Chancellor UoP Prof Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan while talking to the delegation.
He added that UoP would welcome, and cooperate in any venture initiated by partner organizations aimed at capacity building of students and faculty members.
It merits a mention that University of Peshawar would hold four trainings in a span of three months under the agreement, further extendable on mutual consent of the both the parties while Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz and Prof. Dr. Miraj ul Islam Zia be responsible for conducting the course. - APP
