Zakat and Ushr Council established

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Thursday established Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zakat and Ushr Council for a term of three years with immediate effect.
According to an official statement, the council would be comprised of Justice  Muhyuddin as Chairman, Dr. Maulana Attaur Rehman, Maulana Inamullah, Sultan Hassain, Engineer Amanullah Khan, Javed Afsar, Bilqees Murad, Seema Sabah as Members. - APP


Haj operation commences from Peshawar Airport

PESHAWAR: Haj operation from Bacha Khan Airport Peshawar was commenced on Sunday amid tight security arrangements.
According to details, first flight with 329 pilgrims left for Jeddah from Peshawar Airport. Foolproof security arrangements were made on the occasion to deal with any untoward situation.
Talking to media persons on the occasion Director Haj Shakeel Ahmed Sethi said that this year 19000 pilgrims of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) would perform Haj under government quota while 9000 would be facilitated through private Haj quota.
He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for the pilgrims and vowed to provide all facilities to those visiting Hijaz-e-Muqadas to perform Haj. - INP

First Haj flight from Bacha Khan Airport tomorrow

Immunisation to continue till Monday
PESHAWAR: The first Haj flight from Bacha Khan Airport will depart on Sunday while a total of 31000 pilgrims will be departing from Peshawar during the pre-Haj operation.
The first Haj flight of Shaheen Airline will leave Bacha Khan airport at 11:45 a.m with 368 pilgrims going to perform Hujj under private schemes.
The first PIA flight, taking 219 Hujaj under the private scheme, will leave on Sept 9 at 17:15 hours.

People welcome prayer section in trains

PESHAWAR: Crossing Pakistan in long-distance trips every day, hundreds of thousands of Muslim commuters will soon have their long-demanded prayer section as railway authorities have launched a plan to redesign all trains to accommodate Muslim worshippers.
"It was a long-time and legitimate demand, which should have been met much earlier," Saad Rafiq, the federal minister for railway told
"But, it's never too late. Thousands of passengers -both male and female- will soon have designated area to offer prayer onboard in each railway car," the minister added.

Daily use items prices increased during recent Ramazan

PESHAWAR: Prices of daily use items especially food increased this Ramazan as compared to previous years.
According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, most Pakistanis (82%) believe that the prices of items of daily use, especially food items, have increased during current Ramadan as compared to previous years.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked "Compared to previous years, have the prices of items of daily use, especially food items, increased, remained in control or remained unchanged this Ramazan?".
Responding to the question, 82% said prices have increased, 8% replayed prices have remained in control and another 8% answered prices remain the same. - APP
