Met Office predicts rain for Malakand

PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted rain-thundershower at isolated places of Malakand Division during next 24 hours that would hopefully bring the existing hot temperature down. According to Met Office here, a low pressure area lied over Southwest of Bhopal (India), which is likely to move westward (towards Indian Gujrat) in next 2-3 days and it may intensify in a well marked low pressure area during the mid week. Under the influence of this weather system, scattered rains/thundershowers are expected in Southeast Sindh on Tuesday/Wednesday, while widespread rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected in Lower Sindh (Karachi, Hyderabad & Mirpurkhas divisions) from Thursday to Sunday. A shallow westerly wave is also prevailing over northern areas of the country. In next 24 hours, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however rain-thundershower expected at scattered places of Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas divisions; while at isolated places of Malakand, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. - APP
